Can you believe you’d do this to yourself?

Have you ever taken the time to really stop and listen to your internal conversation? I have, and I’ve noticed I can be downright MEAN to myself. Can you relate?

I used to have this one thing in my life that would prompt me to think things like:

“You’ll never get this. You suck.”

“This is too hard, forget about it.”

“Your parents really failed you on this one.”

Nasty, right?!

And the thing that was prompting all these thoughts in my brain was the fact that: up until age 27 I did not know how to ride a bike.

I allowed the fact that I couldn’t ride a bike to cause me angst and resentment for years. It wasn’t a constant feeling, but it would definitely come up every so often. I went through all the emotions around it: blaming my parents, thinking I wasn’t good enough to learn, and feeling so stupid that I couldn’t do it like everyone else around me.

*I* was making this circumstance an invisible roadblock to my happiness.

I was afraid to even try to learn because I might fail. Or worse, I might look stupid.

The reason I share this with you today, is because I know you are making a roadblock for yourself too. Do you know what it is?

Here’s the deal, most people spend their lives in fear. They whittle away their days wishing they had more money, an amazing relationship, a BMW, freedom to travel at the drop of a hat, whatever, yet they keep themselves from taking action because they think they don’t have enough time, or money, or support, or confidence, or they fear looking dumb.

If you’re reading this, then I know:

Regardless of your current reality, you are NOT one of the people who lets fear win.

Like I said, it’s NEVER too late. It all comes down to a choice. Do you take a step towards what you want, or do you hold back and stay in your fear?

So, let’s get to know each other better. Send a message to tell me: what is that ONE roadblock holding you back in your life right now?

I promise I don’t bite, just shoot me an email to let me know what your biggest roadblock is. Sometimes putting words to it or sharing it with someone else is just the thing you need to overcome it.

P.S. In case you were wondering… in November 2015, I was almost done with a 6-month transformational training program that was teaching me how to grab life by the horns, become wickedly responsible for my results, and I decided it was time to learn how to ride. My friend Chris taught me in 2 lessons. Now I’m a biking fool!
